6fc564278d feat(agents): sessions_search full-text recall over past session transcripts (#105057)
Adds a core sessions_search agent tool backed by a SQLite FTS5 index that
lives next to the transcript rows in the per-agent database. Indexing is
transactional: user/assistant text is indexed inside the same write
transaction that persists the event, deletes drop index rows in the same
transaction, and branch rewinds mark the session dirty so the next search
rebuilds it from the same visible-path resolution sessions_history uses
(which also lazily backfills doctor-migrated databases). Search executes
gateway-side behind an additive sessions.search method with a bounded
session-key allowlist; visibility, sandbox restrictions, and snippet
redaction mirror sessions_history.

0af8467137 feat(workspaces): add agent-composable Workspaces (#104139)
* feat(dashboard): modular dashboard — workspace store, Workspaces tab, sandboxed custom widgets

Squashes openclaw/openclaw#101094 + #101097 + #101098 onto current main and
applies the maintainer review fixes to the backend control plane.

Co-authored-by: 100yenadmin <239388517+100yenadmin@users.noreply.github.com>

* fix(dashboard): UI review fixes — grid, error boundary, embed sandbox, locale

* fix(dashboard): make the CLI and agent broadcasts actually reachable

Three defects only a live run surfaces, all invisible to the unit suites:

- The plugin claimed the CLI command name `dashboard`, which core already owns
(it opens the Control UI). A plugin CLI group that overlaps a core command is
dropped at registration behind a `logger.debug`, so the entire CLI face was
unreachable while `cli.test.ts` kept passing against its own Commander
program. Renamed to `openclaw workspaces`, matching the tab it drives.

- The manifest never declared `activation.onCommands`, so the CLI root resolved
to no owning plugin even once the name was free.

- `dashboard.widget.approve` needs `operator.approvals`; the CLI asked for
`operator.write` on every call. It now requests the approvals scope only for
  the approve call, matching `operator-approvals-client.ts`.

Also: agent tools resolved their broadcast from the plugin runtime's
gateway-request scope, an AsyncLocalStorage set only around gateway RPCs and
plugin HTTP routes. An agent turn started from a channel, cron, or heartbeat
therefore wrote the document without emitting `plugin.dashboard.changed`, so an
open Control UI never saw the edit — the feature's headline promise. The gateway
broadcast is server-lifetime, so the plugin now remembers it in a single slot and
agent tools fall back to it.

* docs(web): document dashboard workspaces, provenance, and the custom-widget sandbox

* fix(dashboard): agent-tool ergonomics + close two approval-boundary gaps

From a source-blind agent driving the dashboard_* tools with nothing but their
schemas, and from a Codex review of the hardening delta.

- dashboard_widget_update could never succeed. It passed its whole parameter
record to the patch reader, whose allowlist rejects the very `tab`/`id` keys
the tool's own schema marks required, so every call died on
"unexpected param: tab". Its test only ran Value.Check against the schema and
  never executed the tool.
- dashboard_data_read surfaced an `rpc` binding as a thrown error, though its
description promised `binding_client_resolved`. It now returns that as a
result the model can act on.
- Valid widget kinds and the rpc allowlist were undiscoverable: a model saw only
"builtin:<name> or custom:<name>" and "Allowlisted gateway read method", then
brute-forced ~40 calls against errors that named no alternatives. Both schemas
and both validator errors now enumerate them, and the kind description says
what each builtin renders and which binding id it reads. widget_move documents
that grid and toTab are exclusive; widget_scaffold says an operator must
approve, because no agent tool can.
- workspace.replace could mint a pending registry entry for a name that was
never scaffolded. An operator could then approve a widget whose code did not
exist yet, and the agent could write it afterwards. Registry entries now come
from dashboard_widget_scaffold and nowhere else, and approve refuses a name
  with no manifest on disk.
- dashboard.widget.approve answered with the whole workspace document, so a
connection holding only operator.approvals could read it through the approvals
door. It now returns the registry entry it changed.

* fix(dashboard): approval pins the code it approves

Codex review found the scaffold-before-approval gate still nameable rather than
binding: approve only proved that widget.json parsed, and the Control UI loaded a
hardcoded index.html rather than the manifest's entrypoint. An agent could
scaffold a widget, win approval on an innocuous or absent entrypoint, then write
the real payload afterwards — code appearing after the human said yes.

Approval now hashes every servable file in the widget directory and stores the
digests on the registry entry, refusing a manifest whose declared entrypoint is
missing. The asset route re-hashes each file it reads and 404s anything that does
not match, so a file edited or added after approval never reaches a browser. The
Control UI loads the manifest's entrypoint, which is the file that was hashed.

The content-type allowlist moves to manifest.ts so the set of files approval
hashes and the set the route can serve cannot drift apart.

Proof, against a running gateway: scaffold -> 404, approve -> 200, rewrite
index.html -> 404, add late.js -> 404.

* fix(dashboard): parse the approved manifest from the bytes that were hashed

Codex found a TOCTOU in the approval path: it loaded and validated widget.json,
then walked the directory again to compute the digests. An agent could swap
widget.json between the two reads, so the operator validated one entrypoint while
the digest froze — and the Control UI later mounted — a different one.

snapshotApprovedWidget now reads the widget directory once: it hashes every
servable file, parses the manifest out of the same widget.json bytes it hashed,
and requires the declared entrypoint to be among them.

Proof, against a running gateway: approve -> index.html 200; rewrite widget.json
to point at evil.html and drop evil.html in -> both 404.

* fix(dashboard): cap approval asset reads; bound the grid fallback search

Two findings from the fourth Codex pass.

Approval hashes agent-authored files that are untrusted until it runs, and read
each one into memory with no size check — dropping one huge .png into a scaffold
directory would stall or OOM the gateway during approve. Sizes are now checked
before the read, with a 2 MB per-file and 8 MB total cap.

nearestFreeSlot searched one band below the lowest occupied row, so a crowded
layout near the bottom could return y=500 as the closest free slot: a placement
the store rejects, which the UI applies optimistically and then snaps back. The
search now stops at the last row a widget of that height can legally occupy.

* fix(dashboard): refuse oversized widget assets before reading them

Approved widget files stay writable and the asset route is unauthenticated, so
swapping an approved small file for a very large one made every GET buffer the
whole file before the digest check rejected it. The route now refuses anything
past the same per-file cap approval enforces, on the stat it already performs.

Appearance toggle, the Lobsterdex, reduced-motion and privacy notes.
Deliberately teases rather than documents the rare variants, events,
and the anniversary. Registered in the Web interfaces nav group and the

3ccf2a0739 feat: render inline web chat widgets via capability-gated show_widget tool (#101840)
Adds client-capability-gated tool availability: gateway clients declare
capabilities at connect (new inline-widgets cap), chat.send stamps them into
the run context, and every tool assembly path (embedded runner, queued
followups, Codex app-server harness, plugin-only construction plans) drops
tools whose requiredClientCaps the originating client did not declare. The
Canvas plugin ships the first such tool, show_widget: agents pass SVG or an
HTML fragment plus a title; the plugin hosts it as a bounded, retention-scoped
Canvas document and returns the existing canvas preview handle, which web chat
renders as a sandboxed iframe fitted to the widget's reported content height.
Widget frames never get allow-same-origin (per-preview sandbox ceiling,
including the sidebar path) and the Canvas host serves widget documents with a
CSP sandbox header so direct navigation runs in an opaque origin. Verified
live end-to-end on a Testbox with gpt-5.5 (screenshots on the PR). CLI-backed
model backends do not carry client caps yet and stay fail-closed (#102577).

f7e962d6e3 feat(cli): add openclaw promos to discover and claim ClawHub promotional model offers (#100236)
* feat: add openclaw promos CLI for ClawHub promotional model offers

* fix: distinct message for contract-invalid promo aliases

* fix(cli): validate promotion plugin contracts

* fix(cli): recheck promotion window before claim

* feat(cli): surface ClawHub promotions in models list via the hosted feed

Passive discovery for promotional model offers. A cadence-gated (24h),
fail-silent conditional GET of ClawHub's immutable promotions feed
snapshot (If-None-Match -> 304, short 2.5s timeout, unauthenticated so
CDN caches stay unfragmented) is cached in two new shared-state-DB
tables, fully separate from update_check_state. models list renders an
'Available via promotion' group for live offers whose models are not in
the user's configured set (including the zero-row fresh-install path),
tags claimed models promo / promo ended from provenance recorded at
claim time, and prints a one-time notice per newly seen offer; promos
list and claim mark offers as seen. Machine outputs stay clean, snapshot
sequence is monotonic against stale edges, and claims still revalidate
against the live API so the kill switch always wins.

* style: satisfy lint on promotions feed additions

no-useless-fallback-in-spread on the optional request headers and
no-map-spread in claim-provenance row mapping.

* fix(cli): harden promotions feed cache

f53346944d feat: correlate native search outcomes in audit history (#98704)
* feat: correlate native search outcomes in audit history

Metadata-only audit ledger for agent runs and tool actions in the shared
state DB: stable event identity, closed action/status/error vocabularies,
one-way-hashed tool-call ids, never-inferred terminal outcomes for native
web-search (explicit completed/failed only; otherwise unknown), bounded
retention, audit.list gateway RPC and openclaw audit CLI. Squashed from
the 82-commit audit stack for replay onto current main.

* feat(audit): add audit.enabled config gate (default on)

The metadata-only audit ledger records by default: an audit trail enabled
only after an incident cannot explain the incident, and the rows are
strictly less sensitive than the transcripts every install already
stores. audit.enabled=false stops new writes at the gateway subscription
seam; audit.list and openclaw audit keep serving existing records until
they expire. Documented in the configuration reference, protocol page,
and CLI reference.

* fix: repair full-matrix CI findings after rebase

- break the dynamic-tools/dynamic-tool-execution import cycle by
extracting resolveCodexToolAbortTerminalReason into a leaf module
- restore main's session-worktree protocol exports lost in the
  index.ts auto-merge
- register the audit event writer worker as a knip entry point
- docs table formatting; subagent wait-cancellation test scoped to its
audit intent (outcome + timing) and advanced past main's new
  lifecycle-timeout retry grace

d6801f23d4 feat(browser): restore driver "extension" via a loopback Chrome extension relay (no remote-debugging prompt) (#100619)
* feat(browser): restore driver "extension" via loopback Chrome extension relay

Reintroduces browser profile driver "extension" (removed in 2026.3.22) as a
loopback relay that drives the user's signed-in Chrome through an MV3 extension
instead of the remote-debugging port. This avoids Chrome's blocking "Allow
remote debugging?" prompt, which cannot be clicked when the operator drives
OpenClaw from a phone. Automated tabs live in an "OpenClaw" tab group (the
consent boundary), mirroring the Codex/Claude-in-Chrome model.

- relay bridge synthesizes the CDP browser target surface for Playwright
connectOverCDP and forwards session-scoped commands to chrome.debugger
- relay server binds loopback only; both sides authenticate with a token
derived (HMAC-SHA256) from gateway auth, so the raw credential never reaches
Chrome; extension origin + loopback Host checks guard the upgrade
- built-in "chrome" profile; distinct relay ports per extension profile;
relay reconciles on auth rotation / cdpPort change and prunes removed profiles
- doctor + status surface the extension transport; doctor keeps repairing the
retired relay endpoint URL on legacy "extension" profiles

Refs #53599

* feat(browser): bundle the OpenClaw MV3 Chrome extension

Thin MV3 extension (chrome-extension/): a WebSocket client to the loopback
relay plus chrome.debugger forwarding and OpenClaw tab-group management. All
CDP target synthesis lives server-side in the relay bridge, so the extension
stays a dumb transport (the removed 2026.3 extension put that logic in a
1000-line untestable service worker). Popup handles pairing and per-tab share
toggle; `openclaw browser extension path|pair` load and pair it. A build copy
hook stages it into dist so the load path is stable.

Refs #53599

* docs(browser): document the Chrome extension profile

Adds docs/tools/chrome-extension for the restored extension driver (install,
pair, tab-group consent model, security posture) and wires it into the browser
docs profile section and nav.

Refs #53599

* feat(browser): make the extension relay work on remote browser nodes

Derives the relay auth token from a host-local secret in the credentials dir
(created on first use) instead of gateway auth. Each machine that runs a
browser — the gateway host and every browser node host — owns its own token, so
the extension pairs with whichever machine hosts its Chrome and no gateway
credential travels to a node. The node host already runs the shared browser
control bootstrap, so this is all that was missing for cross-machine control.

Also removes the "relay needs gateway auth before it can start" failure mode:
startup and `openclaw browser extension pair` ensure the secret exists.

Refs #53599

* fix(browser): harden relay secret creation and satisfy CI lint/typecheck

- Make the host-local relay secret creation atomic (O_CREAT|O_EXCL + adopt the
winner on EEXIST) so the gateway service and `extension pair` CLI cannot mint
divergent tokens on a fresh host (would 401 until restart); credentials dir
created mode 0700. (adversarial review finding)
- Resolve type-aware oxlint findings across the relay + extension: unknown catch
vars, addEventListener over ws.on* in the MV3 worker, void async listeners,
drop useless returns/spreads, Object.assign over map-spread, safe ws frame
  decode (Buffer[]/ArrayBuffer), toSorted.
- Add extensionRelayDefaultPort/extensionRelayPorts to remaining test config
  literals; type the extension relay-core module (.d.ts, excluded from dist);
  regenerate docs_map.

* fix(browser): satisfy OpenGrep security policy on the relay

- Hash both operands before timingSafeEqual so token comparison has no
  length short-circuit (GHSA-JJ6Q-RRRF-H66H).
- Bound the relay WebSocketServer with maxPayload (64 MiB, headroom for CDP
  screenshots/bodies) against oversized frames (GHSA-VW3H-Q6XQ-JJM5).
- Rewrite the config test env helper to avoid the skill-env-host-injection
shape (GHSA-82G8-464F-2MV7); it is a test-only env swap.

0acd851a3b feat(agents): add managed git worktree lifecycle (create/provision/snapshot/restore/GC) (#100535)
Centralized managed worktrees under <state-dir>/worktrees/<repo-fingerprint>/<name>
with branch-per-task (openclaw/<name>), .worktreeinclude provisioning, an optional
.openclaw/worktree-setup.sh repo hook, and a SQLite registry in the shared state DB.
Removal always snapshots the tree (untracked included, gitignored excluded) to
refs/openclaw/snapshots/<id>; restore rebuilds the branch at the original commit with
the snapshot content as uncommitted state. Lossless run-end cleanup, 7-day idle GC for
run-owned worktrees (manual exempt), orphan reconciliation, 30-day snapshot retention.
Surfaces: worktrees.* gateway RPC (operator.admin mutations), openclaw worktrees CLI,
Control UI page, plugin-SDK facade + Workboard kind:"worktree" materialization.

E2E-verified on Testbox: full create->work->remove->restore->gc lifecycle.

c730d8f1f1 feat(logbook): automatic work journal plugin with Control UI timeline tab (#99930)
* feat(logbook): automatic work journal plugin with a plugin-contributed Control UI tab

Squash of PR #99930 work for rebase onto the Control UI route refactor:
- extensions/logbook: Dayflow-style capture -> observations -> timeline cards
pipeline with SQLite store, node capture commands, standup/ask, retention
- plugin SDK/gateway seam: surface "tab" Control UI descriptors projected
into hello-ok controlUiTabs (scope-filtered, deterministic order)
- Control UI: dynamic plugin tabs with bundled Logbook view
- docs, tests, labeler wiring

* feat(ui): port plugin tabs and Logbook to the route-owned Control UI architecture

- shared /plugin route carries the tab id in the query (?id=<tab>), matching
  the router's exact-path contract
- openclaw-plugin-page renders bundled views (Logbook), sandboxed plugin
frames (descriptor path), or the unavailable card
- sidebar renders hello controlUiTabs after each group's static routes

062f88e3e3 refactor: extract reusable AI runtime package (#99059)
* refactor: extract reusable AI runtime package

* refactor: complete AI provider relocation

* refactor: keep llm core internal

* refactor(ai): make @openclaw/ai self-contained with host policy ports

Move pure transport helpers (tool projections, strict-schema normalization,
prompt-cache boundary, stream guards, anthropic/openai compat, request
activity) from src into packages/ai; move utf16-slice into
normalization-core. Inject host policy (guarded fetch, redaction,
strict-tool defaults, diagnostics logging) through AiTransportHost with
inert library defaults installed by src/llm/stream.ts. Narrow the public
barrel to instance-scoped createApiRegistry/createLlmRuntime; the
process-default runtime moves behind internal/ and
registerBuiltInApiProviders takes an explicit registry. Delete the
src/llm/api-registry re-export facade.

* fix(ai): teach node, jiti, and vite resolvers the @openclaw/ai and utf16-slice subpaths

The workspace alias tables in root-alias.cjs, plugin-sdk-native-resolver,
sdk-alias, the shared vitest config, and the Control UI vite config only
knew @openclaw/llm-core; Node-side plugin loading resolved @openclaw/ai
through the pnpm symlink to the unbuilt dist (checks-node-compact CI
failures), and the Control UI build broke on the new
normalization-core/utf16-slice subpath.

* chore(ui): drop leftover service-worker debug logging

* build(release): ship @openclaw/ai with its own shrinkwrap and honest dependency set

packages/ai declares only its six real runtime deps (kysely, chalk, json5,
tslog, zod, fs-safe, and proxyline were never imported); orphaned root deps
removed. generate-npm-shrinkwrap now treats publishable packages/* like
publishable plugins so the AI tarball pins its transitive tree even though
workspace deps are omitted from the root shrinkwrap. knip learns the
package entry points; the tsdown dts neverBundle option moves to its
documented deps.dts home; the README documents the no-semver internal/*
contract and host ports.

* docs(ai): add minimal external-consumer example app

examples/ai-chat consumes only the public @openclaw/ai surface (built dist
via the workspace link): isolated runtime, built-in provider registration,
one streamed completion. Supports Anthropic/OpenAI via env keys and a
keyless local Ollama target; live-verified against Ollama.

* docs(ai): document the @openclaw/ai package and workspace shrinkwrap boundary

* chore(check): include examples/ in duplicate-scan targets

* fix: emit normalization package subpaths

* fix: complete AI package boundary artifacts

* fix: align AI package boundary contracts

* fix(ci): stabilize package release contracts

* test: align documentation contract checks

* test: keep cron docs guard aligned

* test: align restored docs contract guards

* test: follow upstream docs contracts

* docs: drop superseded talk wording

db7d70ae4d feat(parallel): add Parallel as a bundled web_search provider (#85158)
- New extensions/parallel package modeled on extensions/exa
- Wires Parallel's POST /v1/search through the generic web_search contract,
  exposing Parallel's recommended {objective, search_queries} shape (plus
optional count, session_id, client_model) so the model can supply both the
natural-language goal and 2-3 short keyword queries as Parallel docs advise
- client_model lets the model report its own slug so Parallel can tailor
optimizations for the consuming model's capabilities; partitions the cache
by client_model so different models do not silently share ranked excerpts
- Honors top-level tools.web.search.{maxResults,timeoutSeconds,cacheTtlMinutes}
via the shared SDK helpers (mergeScopedSearchConfig, withTrustedWebSearchEndpoint,
  buildSearchCacheKey, read/writeCachedSearchPayload)
- Auto-detect order 75; auth via PARALLEL_API_KEY or
  plugins.entries.parallel.config.webSearch.apiKey
- Optional baseUrl override for proxies (e.g. Cloudflare AI Gateway)
- Threads caller-supplied session_id through follow-up calls; strips
auto-generated session_id from the shared cache to avoid cross-task leaks
- Always sends advanced_settings.max_results so result volume matches the
  OpenClaw web_search default (5) instead of Parallel's default (10)
- Identifies the plugin via User-Agent header built from package version
- Runtime accepts the generic `query` arg as a fallback so the operator
CLI (openclaw capability web.search) keeps working when Parallel is the
active provider: it is promoted into the lone `search_queries` entry.
`objective` stays optional and is never synthesized from a keyword
query (Parallel documents it as natural-language intent). Agent callers
using the native objective+search_queries shape take precedence; the
schema still advertises only the native keys
- Updates the agent tool-display extractor (src/agents/tool-display-common.ts)
to recognize Parallel's objective+search_queries shape so calls render with
query context in CLI progress and Codex activity metadata
- Adds /tools/parallel-search docs page, web.md provider listing, docs nav,
labeler entry, per-plugin registration contract test, and minimal core
touch-points (legacy migrate, registration cases, providers contract list,
runtime bundled list, vitest extension paths)
