4b2b5bcf89 fix(hooks): bound hook workspace manifest and HOOK.md reads (#101472)
* fix(hooks): bound hook workspace manifest and HOOK.md reads

* fix(hooks): enforce maxBytes while reading hook metadata fd

ClawSweeper review noted that openRootFileSync validates stat size
before returning the fd, but the subsequent fs.readFileSync of the fd
was unbounded. A file that grows after validation could still OOM
workspace discovery. Replace the full fd read with a chunked bounded
reader that throws once maxBytes is exceeded, and add regression
coverage for the overflow case.

* test(hooks): cover bounded hook reads through public workspace API

* refactor(hooks): use canonical bounded fd reader for hook metadata

* fix(hooks): warn and skip oversized hook metadata during discovery

ClawSweeper review required the maintainer-selected oversized-metadata
diagnostic contract: warn and skip. readRootFileUtf8 now catches the
RangeError from the canonical readFileDescriptorBoundedSync helper and
emits one warning per oversized package.json/HOOK.md identifying the
path and the byte limit, while discovery continues for other hooks.

The redundant open-time maxBytes stat check is removed so the shared
bounded reader is the single owner of the byte cap; overflow always
surfaces as RangeError, keeping the warning accurate for both static
oversized files and post-open growth.

Add focused tests: warning content for both oversized surfaces,
continued discovery alongside an oversized hook, exact-limit acceptance,
and the plain-hook fallback when a package manifest is oversized.

* chore: retrigger CI after rebase

* refactor(hooks): tighten bounded metadata coverage

877af700bf feat(codex): continue paired-node Codex catalog sessions from the Control UI (#106927)
* feat(codex): continue paired-node Codex catalog sessions from the Control UI

Codex catalog rows on paired nodes were view-only. Node rows are now
continuable when the node advertises and permits the codex threads.list,
thread.turns.list, and cli.session.resume commands. Continue adopts the
session into a locked codex OpenClaw session (deterministic
harness:codex:node-session key, bounded native-history import, two-phase
initializing marker) and installs a webchat conversation binding
(codex-cli-node-session) through the new generic
bindPluginSessionConversation seam with attempt-ID guarded rollback, so
each web turn runs codex exec resume on the owning node via the existing
inbound_claim path. Local continue/archive semantics are unchanged;
archived rows are no longer offered as continuable.

* fix(plugins): serialize plugin session binds per session

Review P2: the bind rollback checked the attempt id and then awaited the
unbind, so a concurrent Continue could install a newer binding between the
two and lose it to the older attempt's rollback. All session binds for one
session key now queue through an in-process tail, so a failing attempt can
only ever roll back its own binding; the attempt-id guard stays as defense
against out-of-band rebinds.

* refactor(codex): extract node-continue and session-bind modules for the LOC ratchet

Pure movement to satisfy the changed-file TypeScript size ratchet: the
paired-node continue flow moves to session-catalog-node-continue.ts and
session-catalog-node-adoption.ts, catalog paging/parsing helpers to
session-catalog-parsing.ts, the Control UI session-bind seam to
session-conversation-binding.ts (+ session-key helpers), and the internal
conversation-id/channel-prefix helpers to utils. transcript-mirror.ts is
restored to main byte-for-byte; the node history builder constructs a plain
CodexThread (only id is required) instead of widening signatures.

* fix(plugins): satisfy preserve-caught-error in the session-bind rollback

* fix(codex): gate node continue on operator.admin and resume by CLI session id

Second review round: (1) bound node turns pass canMutateCodexHost only for
owners/admins, while sessions.catalog.continue is operator.write — a
write-scoped Control UI client could adopt a node session whose every turn
would then be rejected. The gateway now forwards the caller's scopes to the
provider (SessionCatalogContinueProviderParams.clientScopes) and codex fails
node continues closed without operator.admin, before the dedupe join so a
non-admin cannot ride an admin's in-flight operation. (2) The node binding
stored the app-server threadId, but codex exec resume takes the CLI session
id and forked threads share a session tree where the two differ; the binding
now prefers record.sessionId.

* fix(codex): defer node-session restore until the binding is durable

Third review round: continuing an archived adopted node session unarchived
it before the gateway installed the conversation binding, so a failed bind
left a visible session with no node routing. The unarchive now rides
afterConversationBound; finalizeNodeAdoptedSession already covers both the
initializing and finalized marker states, so the eager restore helper is
deleted.

6b95f98fe7 fix(core): make indexed access explicit across remaining src (NUIA phase 3b) (#104773)
* fix(core): make indexed access explicit in auto-reply, infra, and config

Part 1/3 of the src NUIA phase-3b burn-down (#104600): iteration and
destructuring over index reads, boundary guards on parsed input, and
named invariants. Config path walkers bind the path head once; SQLite
migration key handling is hoisted without query-shape changes.

* fix(core): make indexed access explicit in cli, gateway, commands, security, shared

Part 2/3: argv/token selection restructured, gateway event/attachment
invariants named, security parsers stay fail-closed (invariant
violations throw), edit-distance matrices access checked entries.

* fix(core): make indexed access explicit across remaining src surfaces

Part 3/3: channels, plugins, process, cron, plugin-sdk, media, logging,
tui, hooks, daemon, and small directories. Latent bug fixed: a tailnet
resolver could leak undefined through a string|null contract and now
fails with a descriptive local error.

* fix(core): keep optional boundaries optional after per-commit review

Review findings: expectDefined misused where absence is a legitimate
state. CLI --profile/route-args missing next tokens take their existing
miss paths; help normalization compares --help against the last
positional again; first-time plugin install spreads absent cfg.plugins;
denylist scan iterates manifest dependency entries instead of throwing
on omitted sections; tailnet resolver returns a guaranteed string at
the source instead of a caller-side undefined throw.

* refactor(core): closed-key provider labels and honest optional passthroughs

PROVIDER_LABELS becomes a satisfies-typed closed record (static reads
provably defined; dynamic lookups go through providerUsageLabel with
honest string|undefined). Status-scan overview passes its optional
params through unchanged instead of asserting them.

* fix(channels): make getChatChannelMeta honestly optional

The original signature claimed ChatChannelMeta while leaking undefined
on bundled channel id metadata drift; three of four callers already
handled absence. The return type now says so, and the one assuming
caller falls back to the raw channel label.

* fix(core): index-safety for post-rebase main drift

Covers the sqlite-sessions flip and auth-source-plan code that landed
mid-phase, plus the channel-validation test consuming the now honestly
optional getChatChannelMeta.

* refactor(channels): split chat-meta accessors along the SDK contract

getChatChannelMeta keeps its shipped plugin-SDK signature (defined for
bundled ids, fail-loud on impossible misses); new findChatChannelMeta
carries the drift-tolerant optional contract for core auto-enable and
formatting paths.

* fix(qa-channel): own channel metadata instead of a guaranteed-undefined catalog lookup

qa-channel spread getChatChannelMeta over an id that is never in the
bundled catalog, shipping an empty setup meta by accident; the fail-loud
SDK accessor exposed it. The channel now declares its metadata once.

* fix(gateway): heartbeat projection lookahead is optional at the transcript tail

expectDefined wrapped messages[i + 1] whose absence on the final message
is the normal case; the adjacent ternary already handled it. Restores
the plain optional read with an explicit guard in the pair condition.

* fix(plugin-sdk): channel plugin factory tolerates non-bundled channel ids again

createChannelPluginBase spreads bundled catalog meta for ANY channel id,
where absence is the normal case for external plugins; the resolver is
honestly optional again while the exported bundled-id accessor keeps the
fail-loud contract.

* fix(core): spreads of optional config sections stay optional

Fresh-setup and first-install paths (crestodian setup inference, hook
installs, agent config base, target agent models) legitimately lack the
section being rebuilt; spreading undefined is the shipped {} semantics.
Removes the remaining gratuitous assertion wraps found by tree audit.

0a8e3604ba refactor: flip sessions and transcripts to sqlite storage (#98236)
* refactor(sessions): migrate runtime storage to sqlite

* test(sessions): fix sqlite CI regressions

* test(sessions): align remaining sqlite fixtures

* fix(codex): require sqlite trajectory recorder

* test(sessions): align orphan recovery sqlite fixture

* test(sessions): align sqlite rebase fixtures

* fix(sessions): finish current-main integration of the sqlite flip

Resolve the whole-store SDK removal across its owner boundary: drop the
loadSessionStore re-export and the registry whole-store wrappers, wire
hasTrackedActiveSessionRun into gateway chat, complete the
preserveLockedHarnessIds cleanup contract, flip the codex thread-history
import to storePath targets, and port remaining main-side tests from
file-store helpers to session accessor reads.

* chore: drop committed pebbles log, revert plugin-inspector bump, refresh generated docs

Remove the 1.8k-line .pebbles/events.jsonl work log from the branch, restore
the plugin-inspector advisory lane to main's pinned 0.3.10 so the supply-chain
bump gets its own review, and regenerate docs_map, the plugin SDK API baseline,
and the export-surface ratchet for the merged tree.

* feat(sessions): keep archived transcripts by default with zstd cold storage

Codex-style retention: deleting or resetting a session archives its
transcript as a zstd-compressed JSONL artifact (plain when the runtime
lacks node:zlib zstd) and keeps it until the disk budget evicts oldest
first. resetArchiveRetention now governs both deleted and reset archives
and defaults to keep; maxDiskBytes defaults to 2gb so retention stays
bounded, with archives evicted before live sessions. The cron reaper
follows the same knob instead of deleting archives on its own timer.

* fix(state): converge agent DB migration lineages and bound database growth

Merge coherence: run both structure-gated legacy memory-schema repairs
(flip-lineage drop, main-lineage identity rebuild) before the flip
migration so pre-flip v1/v2 and pre-merge flip v1/v4 databases all
converge, and hoist foreign_keys=OFF outside the schema transaction
where the pragma was silently ignored and the v1 sessions rebuild
cascade-deleted session_entries.

Growth guards: fresh agent DBs enable auto_vacuum=INCREMENTAL, WAL
maintenance releases freed pages in bounded passes (never a blocking
full VACUUM), and doctor reports state/agent DB bloat from freelist
stats.

* fix(codex): resolve the store path for thread-history import via the SDK

The supervision catalog passed the legacy sessionFile locator to the
storePath-targeted transcript mirror; resolve the agent store path with
the session-store SDK helper instead of a runtime-object seam so test
fakes and headless callers need no extra surface. Drop the obsolete
missing-session-id preprocessing case: sessions rows are NOT NULL on
session_id and upsert repairs id-less patches at write time.

* fix(sessions): fail safe on malformed disk-budget config and doctor stat errors

A malformed explicit maxDiskBytes disables the budget instead of
falling back to the destructive 2gb default the user never chose, and
the doctor bloat check skips databases whose paths stat-fail instead of
aborting doctor.

* fix(sessions): complete sqlite conflict translations

* test(sqlite): align hardening checks with maintenance

* test(sessions): inspect compressed transcript archives

* fix(tests): await session seeds and drop unused helpers flagged by CI lint

The five unawaited writeSessionStoreSeed calls raced their SQLite seeds
against the assertions, failing compact shards; the bloat probe drops a
useless initializer and the merged tests drop now-unused helpers.

* test(sessions): type legacy proof events directly

* test(sessions): align hardening contracts

* perf(sessions): read usage transcript sizes from SQL aggregates

Usage/cost scans walked every session and materialized every transcript
event just to re-stringify it for a byte estimate — the #86718 stall
class reborn on the DB. readTranscriptStatsSync sums stored JSON bytes
in SQLite without loading a single row.

* fix(sessions): re-root foreign-root transcript paths onto the current sessions dir

Restored backups, moved OPENCLAW_STATE_DIR, and rehearsal copies carry
absolute sessionFile paths from the old root; the containment fallback
kept those foreign paths, so migration read (and would archive) files in
the original root and reported local copies missing. Re-root the
canonical agents/<id>/sessions suffix onto the current dir when the file
exists there; genuine cross-root layouts still fall through unchanged.

* test(agents): seed harness admission through sqlite

* fix(sqlite): close agent db on pragma setup failure

* fix(doctor): compact and retrofit incremental auto-vacuum after session import

The migration is the sanctioned offline window: post-import compact
reclaims import churn and applies auto_vacuum=INCREMENTAL to databases
created before the fresh-DB pragma existed, so runtime maintenance can
release pages in bounded passes on every install.

a6bdc8092b fix(session-memory): honor configured slug model (#97007)
* [AI] fix(session-memory): forward hook config model to LLM slug generator

When llmSlug is enabled with a model override in the session-memory hook
config, that model was ignored — slug generation always resolved the
agent default model via resolveDefaultModelForAgent.

Add an optional model parameter to generateSlugViaLLM and pass
hookConfig.model from the session-memory handler. When a hook model is
provided, only the model is forwarded (provider is omitted) so
runEmbeddedAgent's built-in resolveInitialEmbeddedRunModel chain handles
alias, provider-qualified ref, and bare-name resolution through a single
source of truth — avoiding the routing drift that blocked prior PRs.

Fixes #89551

f3ac874fd2 Recover archived (.reset) session transcripts in memory hook + session-logs skill (#71537)
* fix(session-memory): recover archived reset transcripts

* docs(session-logs): include archived transcripts in skill examples

Plain .jsonl globs miss .jsonl.reset.*Z and .jsonl.deleted.*Z files,
which still contain real transcript content. Add explicit guidance and
a list_session_transcripts helper so searches can opt in to full
history when needed.

Pairs with the session-memory recover-from-archive fix in the same
branch.

* docs(session-logs): scope nullglob and use while-read in helper

Address Greptile review feedback on PR #71537:

* nullglob is now saved and restored inside list_session_transcripts so
the helper does not change the caller shell environment when sourced.
* Replace 'for f in $(list_session_transcripts)' tip with a 'while
IFS= read -r' loop so paths with spaces or other IFS characters are
handled correctly. Include a worked example using the same date+size
listing the surrounding section already documents.

Doc only, no runtime behavior change.

1052652a71 fix(session-memory): skip transcript-only assistant messages in getRecentSessionContent (#94401)
* fix(session-memory): only skip delivery-mirror duplicates, preserve unique DM rows

- Skip delivery-mirror rows only when their text duplicates the preceding
  assistant text (fixes #92563)
- Delivery-mirror rows with unique visible content (e.g., message-tool
  replies) are preserved
- Gateway-injected standalone assistant replies are preserved
- Combined with upstream sanitizeSessionMemoryTranscriptText

Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(session-memory): reset assistant-text tracking across user turns

lastAssistantText persisted across user messages, causing delivery-mirror
rows that echoed a previous turn's assistant text to be incorrectly
filtered. Reset lastAssistantText to undefined when a visible user
message is emitted, so cross-turn delivery-mirror duplicates are
preserved while same-turn duplicates are still skipped.

921598442a fix(hooks): expose inbound reply metadata before dispatch
Fixes #88521.

Expose finalized inbound reply metadata on plugin-visible hook payloads so before_dispatch and message hooks can implement reply-aware behavior without channel-specific workarounds.

9a3e7d4f51 fix(hooks): pass media metadata to internal message_received hook
Forward canonical inbound media metadata to internal message:received hook consumers, matching the plugin received hook mapper and inbound-claim metadata path.

This fixes internal hook handlers losing mediaPath, mediaUrl, mediaType, mediaPaths, mediaUrls, and mediaTypes for received messages with attachments.

Verification:
- node scripts/run-vitest.mjs src/hooks/message-hook-mappers.test.ts
- .agents/skills/autoreview/scripts/autoreview --mode branch --base origin/main

63621eead2 fix(discord): route thread bindings to plugin owners
Route Discord thread follow-up messages to plugin-owned bindings by the raw thread id while retaining parent channel fallback matching. This fixes `/codex bind` follow-ups in Discord threads being claimed by the parent OpenClaw route instead of the bound Codex session.

Verification:
- `node scripts/run-vitest.mjs extensions/discord/src/channel.conversation.test.ts src/hooks/message-hook-mappers.test.ts extensions/discord/src/monitor/message-handler.process.test.ts -t "prefers bound session keys|passes Discord thread parent only|routes Discord thread plugin-owned bindings|passes thread parent ids|thread binding"`
- `node scripts/run-vitest.mjs src/auto-reply/reply/dispatch-from-config.test.ts -t "routes Discord thread plugin-owned bindings by raw thread id"`
- `pnpm build`
- `pnpm lint --threads=8`
- `CI=true FORCE_COLOR=0 pnpm lint --threads=8`
- `.agents/skills/autoreview/scripts/autoreview --mode local`
- GitHub: Real behavior proof, check-test-types, check-dependencies, check-prod-types, auto-reply dispatch shard, hooks shard, and extension package boundary passed on head 1e896d9835.

Known unrelated CI noise at merge: broad opengrep/test/lint CI failures are outside the touched Discord/session-binding surface and contradicted by focused local proof where applicable.
