* fix(wizard): treat not-directory paths as missing in migration snapshots
The setup migration snapshot and recovery paths checked for ENOENT only
when catching fs errors. ENOTDIR (returned when a path component that
should be a directory is a file) was not recognized, so a not-directory
migration root made fs.readdir throw instead of resolving to no recovery
record, and interrupted the onboarding migration snapshot hash.
Migrate both local isMissingPathError helpers to the shared
isNotFoundPathError guard (matches ENOENT and ENOTDIR), following the
same migration applied to plugins in #107691.
* test(wizard): cover ENOTDIR migration snapshots

* chore: drop release-only CHANGELOG edit from browser-handoff branch
* fix(onboard): make browser handoff reach the gateway on real installs
The presence probe connected as a raw shared-auth client with a possibly
SecretRef-managed token, which the gateway rejects as an unpaired Control UI
client ("device identity required"), so the handoff never fired and always
fell through to the terminal hatch. Read presence as a CLI-mode loopback client
(the trusted path every openclaw command uses) so operator.read is granted, and
share that one auth path between the reachability gate and the wait loop. Also
short-circuit when gateway.controlUi.enabled is false so onboarding does not open
a dead dashboard URL and block for the full timeout.
* fix(onboard): share resolved target between handoff gate and wait
The reachability preflight now resolves the same target (and shared secret) the
wait loop uses, and presents the configured secret to the CLI-mode presence
read. Known remaining limitation: on fresh quickstart gateways whose auth token
is written to config but resolved differently at runtime, the presence read is
rejected with a token mismatch and the handoff falls back to the terminal hatch.
Tracked for follow-up before enabling the browser handoff by default.

* feat(onboarding): recommend plugins and skills from installed apps
Scan installed macOS apps during classic onboarding (TCC-free), gather
candidates from official catalogs + ClawHub search, let the configured
model pick genuine matches, and offer an opt-in multiselect install step.
Adds a device.apps node-host command (default-off sharing, Android-parity
envelope) so remote gateways can request a paired Mac's inventory, and a
wizard.appRecommendations kill switch. Custom setup-inference completions
no longer inherit the 32-token verification-probe output cap.
* feat(onboarding): recommend apps in guided flow
* fix(onboarding): harden app recommendations against ClawHub self-promotion
Third-party ClawHub skills are never pre-selected regardless of model tier
(publisher-controlled listing text reaches the matcher prompt and could
promote itself); their labels now say they install third-party code.
Installed-app scans follow symlinked .app bundles. Matcher output stays
bounded by the resolved model's own maxTokens budget (documented invariant).
* fix(onboarding): key official catalog candidates by resolved plugin id
Real catalog entries are package manifests without a top-level id; keying the
candidate map and channel/provider classification by entry.id collapsed the
whole official catalog into one undefined-keyed entry, so no official plugin
or channel was ever recommended. Regression test runs against the bundled
catalogs.
* fix(onboarding): satisfy lint, types, deadcode, and migration gates
Split the guided-onboarding test into a self-contained custodian suite to stay
under max-lines. Narrow app-recommendation exports (drop dead node-payload
normalizer, unexport internal types/helpers, route candidate tests through the
public API), replace map-spread with a helper, unexport device.apps result
types, add installedAppsSharing to node-host migration expectations, cast the
wizard multiselect mock, and regenerate the docs map.
* test(onboarding): register new live test in the shard classifier
* feat(onboard): guided onboarding becomes the custodian flow
Question zero asks for discovery consent up front (full access recommended,
guarded asks once or configures manually; persisted as wizard.accessMode and
honored on reruns). Discovery quietly collects auto-ladder failures into one
summary with details behind 'See other options', quips about detected coding
agents, and announces the working route as a default with an easy undo.
After inference and the memory offer (skipped when discovery was declined),
fresh installs auto-apply the standard setup plan and hatch the agent
directly in the terminal; configured installs (pre-existing model or gateway
config) stay verification-only and never reinstall or restart the Gateway
service. Setup-apply failures fall back to the conversational chat.
Remote-gateway onboarding keeps its legacy chat handoff explicitly.
listManualSetupInferenceOptions lists manual providers without scanning.

User-facing name is now OpenClaw (the system speaks); internal code name is
system-agent. Gateway methods crestodian.* -> openclaw.chat/openclaw.setup.*,

* fix(wizard): defer config commit until after migration apply succeeds
Onboarding migration import commits the config file to disk before the
migration provider's apply() runs. If apply() legitimately reports an
error on any item, runSetupMigrationImport() throws, but the config is
already committed with wizard metadata stamped on it. On the very next
onboarding attempt, the freshness gate sees that stamped config and
refuses to run the import, telling the user a fresh setup is required.
Move the commitConfigFile call to after assertApplySucceeded(), so a
failed apply never leaves wizard metadata on disk that blocks the next
retry behind the fresh-setup gate.
The in-memory config still has wizard metadata applied before the apply
context is constructed (so the apply function can reference a concrete
target), but the disk write only happens after apply succeeds.

* fix(wizard): preserve config patches from provider apply after commit
Restore the targetConfig assignment from commitConfigFile so that config

patches.

* feat(ui): redesign Channels page with guided channel setup wizard
Adds wizard.start flow=channels gateway RPC (additive protocol change) that
drives the shared channel-setup wizard (openclaw channels add) over the
session step protocol. Control UI Channels page becomes a card hub with
plugin-art covers, guided per-channel setup modal (WhatsApp QR pairing via
web.login.*, BotFather/Slack/Discord helper links), and a detail overlay
hosting the full schema config form.
* test(ui): cover channel wizard controller; refresh channels view test props
* chore(mock): use non-token-shaped wizard placeholder
* test(gateway): scanner-safe auth local in channels wizard test
* fix(ui): cancel gateway wizard session on channels page disconnect
* fix(ui): adopt browse-all channel pick and guard dirty config before setup
* fix(ui): cancel gateway session created by a stale wizard.start
* fix(ui): adopt multiselect channel picks; drop redundant String()
* fix(ui): track all wizard-adopted channels so WhatsApp QR runs regardless of pick order
* feat(gateway): report configured channels on terminal channel-wizard result
Replaces the Control UI's channel-adoption heuristic with the authoritative
outcome: the channels flow reports its actual selection after config commit,
the wizard session surfaces it as an additive channels field on the terminal
wizard.next result, and the UI keys WhatsApp QR linking off that.
* refactor(ui): align channels hub with the unified settings design language
Hub becomes settings-language rows (44px art tiles, status dots, uppercase
section headings, hairline groups) instead of a card gallery; the detail
overlay hosts the migrated per-channel settings sections with Run setup in
the header. Wizard dialog and tile/cover styles move to spacing tokens.
* chore(i18n): translate channels hub/setup strings; refresh raw-copy baseline
* refactor: satisfy LOC ratchet and dead-export gates
Split mock-dev channel/plugin fixtures into their own modules, move wizard
runner types/defaults to server-methods/wizard.ts, extract the channels page
wizard host and nostr profile HTTP ops, and unexport internal-only types
(incl. the unused config-form SECTION_META barrel re-export).
* chore(i18n): retranslate channels strings on rebased locale bundles
* fix(test): drop redundant String() in channels wizard e2e
* fix: address channel-wizard review findings
- lock wizard cancellation before durable installs/config writes
- report configured channel accounts on the terminal wizard result and
start WhatsApp QR pairing for that account (web.login accountId)
- forward request options through the browser gateway client so wizard
RPC timeouts apply
- render skipped setup as a no-change completion
- keep detail/advanced config reachable for unconfigured channels
- surface the dirty-config warning inside the detail overlay
- adopt the picked channel for wizard title/links in browse-all flows

* feat(cli): animate the claw banner and show it on foreground gateway startup
* fix(cli): restore the terminal when the banner animation is interrupted
* fix(core): make indexed access explicit in auto-reply, infra, and config
Part 1/3 of the src NUIA phase-3b burn-down (#104600): iteration and
destructuring over index reads, boundary guards on parsed input, and
named invariants. Config path walkers bind the path head once; SQLite
migration key handling is hoisted without query-shape changes.
* fix(core): make indexed access explicit in cli, gateway, commands, security, shared
Part 2/3: argv/token selection restructured, gateway event/attachment
invariants named, security parsers stay fail-closed (invariant
violations throw), edit-distance matrices access checked entries.
* fix(core): make indexed access explicit across remaining src surfaces
Part 3/3: channels, plugins, process, cron, plugin-sdk, media, logging,
tui, hooks, daemon, and small directories. Latent bug fixed: a tailnet
resolver could leak undefined through a string|null contract and now
fails with a descriptive local error.
* fix(core): keep optional boundaries optional after per-commit review
Review findings: expectDefined misused where absence is a legitimate
state. CLI --profile/route-args missing next tokens take their existing
miss paths; help normalization compares --help against the last
positional again; first-time plugin install spreads absent cfg.plugins;
denylist scan iterates manifest dependency entries instead of throwing
on omitted sections; tailnet resolver returns a guaranteed string at
the source instead of a caller-side undefined throw.
* refactor(core): closed-key provider labels and honest optional passthroughs
PROVIDER_LABELS becomes a satisfies-typed closed record (static reads
provably defined; dynamic lookups go through providerUsageLabel with
honest string|undefined). Status-scan overview passes its optional
params through unchanged instead of asserting them.
* fix(channels): make getChatChannelMeta honestly optional
The original signature claimed ChatChannelMeta while leaking undefined
on bundled channel id metadata drift; three of four callers already
handled absence. The return type now says so, and the one assuming
caller falls back to the raw channel label.
* fix(core): index-safety for post-rebase main drift
Covers the sqlite-sessions flip and auth-source-plan code that landed
mid-phase, plus the channel-validation test consuming the now honestly
optional getChatChannelMeta.
* refactor(channels): split chat-meta accessors along the SDK contract
getChatChannelMeta keeps its shipped plugin-SDK signature (defined for
bundled ids, fail-loud on impossible misses); new findChatChannelMeta
carries the drift-tolerant optional contract for core auto-enable and
formatting paths.
* fix(qa-channel): own channel metadata instead of a guaranteed-undefined catalog lookup
qa-channel spread getChatChannelMeta over an id that is never in the
bundled catalog, shipping an empty setup meta by accident; the fail-loud
SDK accessor exposed it. The channel now declares its metadata once.
* fix(gateway): heartbeat projection lookahead is optional at the transcript tail
expectDefined wrapped messages[i + 1] whose absence on the final message
is the normal case; the adjacent ternary already handled it. Restores
the plain optional read with an explicit guard in the pair condition.
* fix(plugin-sdk): channel plugin factory tolerates non-bundled channel ids again
createChannelPluginBase spreads bundled catalog meta for ANY channel id,
where absence is the normal case for external plugins; the resolver is
honestly optional again while the exported bundled-id accessor keeps the
fail-loud contract.
* fix(core): spreads of optional config sections stay optional
Fresh-setup and first-install paths (crestodian setup inference, hook
installs, agent config base, target agent models) legitimately lack the
section being rebuilt; spreading undefined is the shipped {} semantics.
Removes the remaining gratuitous assertion wraps found by tree audit.

* feat(ui): add plugin catalog management
* feat(gateway): add plugins.uninstall and richer plugin catalog metadata
Adds a plugins.uninstall gateway method (operator.admin, control-plane write)
backed by a lock-guarded uninstallManagedPlugin that mirrors the CLI flow:
config cleanup, install-record removal, managed file deletion, and registry
refresh. Bundled plugins stay disable-only. Catalog entries now carry a
manifest-derived category and a removable flag; ClawHub search results expose
download counts and verification tiers.
* feat(ui): redesign plugins page with inventory, store shelves, and cover art
Rebuilds /settings/plugins around three tabs: Installed (category-grouped
inventory with overview stats, state filters, uninstall for external plugins,
and inline MCP server management through the shared config seam), Discover
(featured/official shelves plus one-click MCP connectors and curated ClawHub
searches), and ClawHub (search with download counts and verification badges).
Every catalog entry renders bundled cover art or a deterministic gradient
monogram tile - no more empty boxes. Artwork generated with Codex CLI, shipped
as 512px WebP under ui/public/plugin-art.
* chore(ui): regenerate locale bundles for plugins manager strings
* docs: describe plugins manager tabs, uninstall, and MCP connectors
* fix(plugins): human catalog labels and un-pinned hosted fallback ids
listManagedPlugins now prefers manifest names over registry package-name
backfill, falls back to channel catalog labels and blurbs, and stops pinning
expectedPluginId when a hosted feed entry only exposes its package name
(which rejected every legitimate install of that package). Found via live
gateway testing against ClawHub.
* fix(ui): send minimal RFC 7396 merge patches for MCP server edits
config.patch merges rather than replaces, so key removal needs an explicit
null; sending the full config back made MCP server removal a no-op. Found
via live gateway testing.
* fix(ui): write explicit MCP transports for URL servers
The MCP runtime defaults URL-only servers to SSE, so streamable HTTP
endpoints saved by the add form or connector templates would fail at
connect time. Connector templates now declare their transport and the
add form infers streamable-http unless the URL follows the /sse
convention. Flagged by autoreview against the transport resolver.
* test(ui): wait for deferred plugin requests before resolving in e2e
* feat(ui): plugins detail view, action menus, and unified ClawHub search
Reworks the plugins page from PR #103176 feedback: merges the ClawHub tab into
Discover (typing searches ClawHub inline and appends a quiet From ClawHub
section, with Browse ClawHub demoted to a header text link), makes every row and
store card open a plugin detail overlay (hero art, primary enable/install
action, metadata table), and replaces enable/disable switches with a state chip
plus an overflow menu (Enable/Disable, Remove for external plugins, View
details) matching the ChatGPT-store install+menu pattern. MCP rows use the same
menu; refresh is now icon-only.
* chore(ui): regenerate locale bundles for plugins UI iteration
* feat(ui): vetted, grouped connector catalog for the plugins store
Expands Connect your world to 28 connectors organized into use-case shelves
(Work & productivity, Coding & infrastructure, Home & media, Everyday life).
Every entry passed a three-stage subagent review: official-docs verification
plus live endpoint probes for MCP servers, ClawHub result-quality and
malware/typosquat screening for curated searches, and an adversarial pass
that dynamically registered OAuth clients to prove one-click viability.
That review removed Figma (registration allowlisted, 403) and Atlassian
(OAuth issuer-mismatch bug upstream), downgraded GitHub to PAT-based setup
(no dynamic client registration upstream), fixed Linear (/sse retired) and
Home Assistant (/api/mcp, streamable HTTP) endpoints, retargeted poisoned or
dead searches (youtube, finance, hue dropped; calendar -> google calendar;
stocks replaces finance), and added Todoist, Airtable, Canva, Stripe,
Context7, DeepWiki, Hugging Face one-click MCP servers plus Jira, PDF,
transcription, Kubernetes, Reddit, maps, translation, and notes searches.
Keyless servers get a ready-to-use success message; new cover art included.
* chore(ui): regenerate locale bundles for connector groups
* fix(plugins): suppress hosted catalog rows once their package is installed
Hosted feed entries without a declared runtime id fall back to their package
name as catalog id, which never matches the installed runtime id, so the
Discover shelf kept offering an already-installed package. Installed package
names now also suppress official rows. Flagged by autoreview.
* fix(plugins): pin declared runtime ids and surface connector errors in place
The runtime-id pin now keys off explicitly declared catalog ids (plugin,
channel, or provider) instead of string-comparing against the package name,
so declared ids that equal their package name stay enforced while entry-id
fallbacks stay unpinned. Connector add failures on Discover now render on the
triggering card instead of the Installed tab's MCP section. Both flagged by
autoreview; regression tests included.
* feat(ui): full inventory artwork, pulse header, and two-column plugin list
Every bundled plugin now ships distinctive cover art (113 new Codex CLI
illustrations; 172 total, ~2.1MB WebP), so inventory rows and detail views
never fall back to monogram tiles. The four stat cards give way to a compact
inventory pulse: a segmented enabled/disabled/issues meter whose legend and
counts live inside the filter chips. Inventory, MCP, and search rows flow
into two columns when the panel is wide enough.
* chore(ui): regenerate locale bundles for pulse header
* fix(ui): omit stdio args from the MCP server row target
Stdio MCP args routinely carry tokens, and the inventory is visible to
read-only operators; mirror the config page and show only the command.
Flagged by autoreview; regression test included.
* fix(merge): point crestodian setup at relocated plugin commit/refresh modules
* fix(merge): add bootstrapToken to plugins page test gateway harness

* fix(ui): satisfy strict lint on plugins page form parsing and mocks
* chore(build): regen docs map, raise plugin-sdk declaration budget for new protocol surface
* fix(ui): type the plugins page patch mock with its real call signature
* feat(onboard): guided CLI onboarding with live AI verification and classic fallback
Interactive `openclaw onboard` (and bare `openclaw` on a fresh install) now
runs a guided flow with macOS-app parity: detect existing AI access, live-test
candidates with a real completion before persisting anything, walk down the
ladder on failure with mapped reasons, and offer verified manual API-key entry
from installed provider manifests (masked input). In-flow escapes: classic
wizard, Crestodian chat, skip-AI. Classic wizard gains an optional post-auth
live verification step. `--classic`, `--modern`, and `--non-interactive`
contracts unchanged. Docs corrected for post-#99935 routing.
Closes#101851
* improve(onboard): quiet probe diagnostics in wizard TTY, carry risk ack into classic escape
Candidate live-tests during guided setup are probes: rename their run id and
lane to the existing probe conventions (logging/subsystem.ts console
suppression, command-queue quiet probe lanes) so expected failures stop
leaking raw diagnostics into the Clack UI; file diagnostics unchanged. The
classic-wizard escape now passes the already-collected risk acknowledgement
through instead of re-prompting in the same session.
* fix(onboard): quiet the session-derived setup-inference probe lane too
The live-test run enqueues on two lanes: the explicit probe lane and one
derived from its temp session key. Extend the shared quiet-probe predicate to
cover the derived lane so a failing candidate cannot leak lane-task
diagnostics into the wizard TTY.
* improve(onboard): suppress subsystem console output during wizard live tests
Provider-transport subsystem loggers (model-fetch start/response, transport
errors) carry no run id, so probe suppression cannot catch them and a failing
candidate printed raw log lines into the Clack TTY. Reuse the TUI console
subsystem-filter seam via a finally-safe scoped helper around guided
activation and the classic live-verify; file logging is unchanged and the
gateway (macOS app) surface is unaffected.
* fix(onboard): never auto-replace a configured model when its live check fails
The re-run verification probe executes outside the configured workspace (setup
never runs workspace plugins), so a workspace-backed current model can fail
the check while working fine in the agent. Stop the auto ladder on an
existing-model failure and hand the decision to the manual stage instead of
silently persisting a different candidate as the default. Docs note the
fail-safe and the workspace caveat.
* feat(onboard): two-way switching between Crestodian chat and the menu wizards
From the chat, `open setup wizard`, `open classic wizard`, and `open channel
wizard for <channel>` hand off to the guided flow, the classic wizard, or the
masked `channels add` wizard after the chat TUI tears down (mirrors the
open-tui handoff; gateway surface gets a text pointer instead). The hosted
channel wizard no longer dead-ends at sensitive steps — it offers the switch
and remembers the channel. New read-only `channel info <channel>` operation
and ring-zero action surface label, blurb, configured state, and the real
docs URL from channel-setup discovery so the assistant can explain Slack or
Telegram prerequisites instead of guessing; both prompts instruct it to use
them. `channels add --channel <id>` now preselects the channel. Docs cover
the interchangeable flows.
* fix(onboard): avoid param reassignment in open-setup handoff
* improve(onboard): separate ask-about vs connect intent in channel prompt guidance
Live test showed the agent detouring an explicit connect request through
channel_info because the guidance said to consult it first. Both prompts now
distinguish asking about a channel (channel info + docs link) from asking to
connect (connect right away).
* fix(channels): mark channel token entry as sensitive input
The shared single-token prompt lacked sensitive:true, so terminal wizards
echoed pasted channel tokens and the Crestodian chat bridge (which refuses
plain-text secrets based on this flag) hosted the Telegram token step in
visible chat. Found live-testing the chat-to-wizard switch; pre-existing on
main but load-bearing for the masked-wizard contract this PR documents.
* fix(onboard): restore terminal state around the guided flow's TUI launch
Mirror the classic finalize handoff so the chat TUI never inherits the wizard
prompter's raw/paused terminal state on the default first-run path.
* fix(channels): type the token prompter mock for the sensitive-flag assertion
* fix(gateway): map the TUI-only open-setup action to none for app clients
Engine-side surface gating already prevents open-setup replies on the gateway
surface; this keeps the client-visible action enum stable even if that gate
ever regresses. (Reviewed with the switching round; missed in its commit.)
* docs: regenerate docs map for onboarding page changes
